Britain’s butterflies need good weather in the coming months to recover from last year’s wet summer, the charity Butterfly Conservation says. Butterflies do not fly in the rain - and so cannot reach the plants on whose nectar they feed. Now data shows that some species are at an all-time low.
The males of this species have bright blue wings. The butterflies are found generally in southern England.
