This is a picture of what I saw at 5 o clock here, and when it was 5 o clock with the pips in the UK.
I live in Jerusalem, at 5 o clock I was in the queue at the Ram checkpoint leaving Ramallah and entering Jerusalem, the separation wall is just behind us. The journey back from my office can take a different route every day depending on developments in the wall, or trying to avoid traffic buildups at a particular checkpoint out. It can take 20 minutes, or two hours.
Today we waited for 30 minutes at the checkpoint. By the time the pm pips went in the UK, I had radio 4 on in the background as I settled down to edit a report.
