Listeners' pictures at 5pm
I took this picture in the Living and Dying Exhibition in the British Museum at 5pm. I was there by chance - on the way from where I live - to an event in London and walking to Piccadilly, we had time to spare and just walked in for half an hour. In the actual exhibition I was thinking about the way these once frightening objects have lost their power to shock and scare us - yet in the photograph they seem to take on a new and powerful significance.
