I am sitting at my computer in Birmingham, drawing cylinder seals excavated in the 1980s at Tell Abu Salabikh in Iraq. Given the collapsed and destroyed state of archaeolgy in Iraq I feel a huge compulsion to finish the long-delayed work now.
