The view outside the rear door of my office - Emley Moor TV Tower near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire.
The tower, built of reinforced concrete and 1084ft (330m)high, is the tallest free-standing structure in the European Union and since 2002 has been a Grade II listed building. It broadcasts analogue and digital TV and analogue and digital radio to most of West and South Yorkshire, and to parts of North and East Yorkshire and the North Midlands.
