Listeners' photos at 5pm
Hello Eddie and all the PM Team
This is a view taken looking out from my bedside radio as the pips went at 5pm today. I am in the middle of doing my ironing and as it happens 1/2 an hour earlier I had been setting up a photo of items to sell on e-bay and so miraculously I had my camera to hand.
The 5 year old boy 'helping me' in the photo is my middle child Will. I am a 36 year old mother of 3 Clara who is 6, 5 year old Will and 18 month old Ned. I am married to Simon and he was downstairs cooking the tea and listening to Radio 3, which is not that common but he worked from home today and usually listens to PM on his 45 mile commute home from work on the M40.
I am a community midwife (job share) and work for South Buckinghamshire NHS Trust. Simon and I are big Radio 4 listeners and I always listen to PM (unless I'm at work), especially as I am usually getting the tea at this point. The thing that I love about weekday radio 4 is that it sets the rhythm of my day - I can do other jobs without needing to give it my full attention and it keeps me up to date. We lived in Lagos for 4 years and I missed the seasons and radio 4 more than anything.
I know this isn't that interesting but I suppose that's the point really - its a great idea.
