At 1700 on Tuesday, 05 December, 2006, I was in a queue of traffic the length of St Giles, quite the most beautiful street in Oxford. The advent of the so-called Oxford Transport Strategy, some seven or so years previously has done little to alleviate the daily drudge, but at least there are beautiful views of the Cotswold stone buildings out of the window. This is St John's College, Oxford. The long exposure settings and traffic lights give a false impression of traffic actually moving, but are actually caused by camera movement and by buses, manoeuvring for later access to bus lanes at the end of the street.
