5pm in my shed working on final touches to restoration of bicycle by A.S. Gillot, handbuilt in London 1953. As a junior member of the British Leagues of Racing Cyclists I raced on a Gillott in the late forties/early fifties on roads carrying very light traffic. Certainly no idiots in their 4x4's - to rich, fat or lazy - maybe all three, clogging the roads and ruining the planet.
